SOLID STICK

Francesco Maglia solid stick umbrellas are assembled onto natural wooden shafts, consisting entirely of a single piece of wood, from the handle up to the top. Woodworking, still following the traditional techniques from 19th century, includes many manual steps from bending and grinding, to finishing touches like waxing. For this reason, every shaft is unique and one of a kind in the true sense. Each umbrella tip is made of turned brass, natural horn or antler.

We offer various sizes of umbrellas: starting from the standard European size with canopy diameters ranging from 104 to 112 cm up to “doorman” sizes with diameters of 132 cm. A wide selection of wood is available: from “rustic” shafts such as chestnut, hazel or ash, along with natural deer, oryx, ram, and warthog for antlers and horns admirers, to more conventionally elegant types such as bamboo, maple or rattan shafts.
